BarcelonaThe weakened front that crossed us yesterday brought more cloud cover and overcast skies, but no rain, apart from a few drops in the Pyrenees of Lleida. We remain under the influence of the anticyclone, and today the weather will be very calm, with plenty of fog and low clouds in the morning, but with sunshine gradually increasing throughout the day in most areas. Temperatures will drop slightly, especially on the coast, after many areas yesterday saw highs of 15 to 20 °C. Over the next few days, maximum temperatures will gradually return to normal. On Friday, another weakened front will affect us, and a pocket of cold air will bring easterly winds until the weekend, which could produce a few drops of rain on the coast, as well as showers in the Valencian Community.

Thursday: a peaceful day to take advantage of

The weather will be very calm this Thursday, with sunshine gradually increasing throughout the day. However, there will be a lot of fog and low clouds in the morning, not only in the plains and valleys of the interior and pre-coastal areas, but also along coastal stretches. In contrast, the Balearic Islands and the Valencian Community will experience more cloud cover. Humidity will be generally high, and there will also be some patches of high, thin clouds. No rain is expected anywhere.

Forecast map for this Thursday afternoon.

A day to enjoy, with temperatures dropping slightly, both day and night. The most significant decrease in maximum temperatures will be seen along the coast. Many temperatures will range between 13 and 18 °C. There will be a contrast between the moderate chill in the early morning and the more pleasant conditions at midday. The temperature inversion will also occur again, with colder nights at lower elevations than at higher elevations.

New front ahead of Friday

The passage of a weakening front on Friday will bring increased cloud cover. This front will be associated with a pocket of cold air that will mainly affect the western half of the Iberian Peninsula, where significant rainfall is expected. However, the position of this cold air mass will bring light easterly winds to the Mediterranean coast. This will result in more abundant cloud cover along the coast, where some drizzle is expected, especially from the Camp de Tarragona southwards. In the Balearic Islands and the Valencian Community, showers could be more intense. All of this will occur with decreasing maximum temperatures, resulting in cooler daytime temperatures typical for this time of year. Conversely, the cloud cover will keep minimum temperatures higher, with moderate cold in the early hours and little frost.
