The storm eases on the Ebro: the Valencian Community and the Balearic Islands are now under close surveillance.
Rainfall will be locally torrential in these areas, with significant accumulations especially in Valencia.

BarcelonaRainfall has been very abundant and torrential in Terres de l'Ebre between Sunday and Monday, with accumulations of almost 300 l/m², some records, and various incidents (you'll find all the data and images at the end of this report). But now the storm has subsided on the Ebro River, and although some precipitation may still fall until early morning, it will no longer rain tomorrow and the sun will eventually come out. However, in the Valencian Community and the Balearic Islands, the rains will be significant and locally torrential in the coming hours. In the Valencia area, accumulations of more than 300 or 400 l/m² may occur in some cases. Aemet has activated numerous alerts in all these areas. In Catalonia, the last day of September will be dominated by calm, with only a few afternoon showers between the Pyrenees and the northeast inland.
Tuesday: Showers in the Valencian Community and the Balearic Islands
We'll have to keep an eye on the downpours for another day. This time, they will affect the Valencian Community, especially the coastal and pre-coastal areas of the Valencian region, ground zero of last year's catastrophic DANA. However, this time, it won't rain as much in ravine areas and stream headwaters. It will also rain heavily in the Pitiusas and the south of Mallorca. Rainfall could be locally torrential and heavy; caution is advised in all these areas.

In contrast, in Terres de l'Ebre, precipitation will become increasingly residual, and the rain will cease by mid-morning or midday. Sunshine and calm weather will prevail across Catalonia, but in the afternoon, cloud cover will gather in mountainous areas, leaving scattered showers in parts of the Pyrenees and Pre-Pyrenees—particularly the eastern part—and inland northeast Spain. Minor, local storms cannot be ruled out, while light showers could occur between the Maresme region and the southern Costa Brava.
Cooler minimum temperatures, and similar and fairly normal maximum temperatures. However, they will rise significantly in the Ebro and Castellón regions due to the more sunny weather after the rains. Many maximum temperatures of 20 to 25°C, higher in Ponent and the south.
Few changes in the coming days.
Rain will leave the Valencian Community and the Balearic Islands starting Wednesday, and sunshine and calm weather will prevail in most areas. However, between Wednesday and Thursday, there will be more periods of low cloud cover along the coast and pre-coastal areas, with some light, local drizzle or sprinkles possible. This is not likely in a relatively calm environment. Temperatures will remain moderate and within average for the season.

Assessment of the torrential rains
The severe storm has hit the Ebro region hard since Sunday, where locally more than 200 or 300 l/m² have already accumulated. The area where the rain has fallen the most is Amposta, where more than 300 l/m² have accumulated, and a torrential accumulation of 52 l/m² has been recorded in just half an hour tonight. This station and the Els Alfacs station (210 l/m²) have recorded their wettest day in more than 30 years of records. It has also rained heavily in Valencia, with some records already exceeding 200 l/m², such as in La Safor. All of this has caused numerous incidents and flooding in the regions of Castellón and Valencia, and even the overflow of the La Saleta ravine in l'Horta Sud, one of the hardest hit during last year's DANA. These are the largest amounts of water so far in Catalonia:
- 303 l/m²: Amposta
- 216 l/m²: Mas de Barberans
- 210 l/m²: Rápita - Els Alfacs
- 202 l/m²: Roquetes - Els Ports NP
- 161 l/m²: the Village
- 110 l/m²: Tivissa
- 109 l/m²: Aldover
