Marc Márquez sets the pace in Hungary and wins the third sprint of the season
The Cervera pilot will seek his first victory of the year on Sunday in a long race
BarcelonaMarc Márquez has beaten Pedro Acosta in the sprint race of the Hungarian Grand Prix. The Catalan rider achieves his third victory of the season in the short race – he still hasn't managed to win a long race this year – after doing so in Brazil and Jerez. It is the first triumph after the injury he suffered a few weeks ago and which forced him to undergo surgery.
Márquez –who started first– led at all times and gave no option to Pedro Acosta, who finished in second place. The World Championship leader, Marco Bezzecchi, completed a great race, finished third and extended his lead at the top of the general standings with respect to Jorge Martín, sixth in the sprint. The rider from Madrid started in eighth position.
Without suffering
The Catalan has once again shown his superiority riding the Ducati and has managed to have a margin of more than two seconds over Acosta. Unlike what happened in Thailand in the first race of the year, the Murcian has not been able to overcome Marc Márquez, who this Sunday (2:00 PM) will be looking for his first victory of the season in a long race.
After the seventh position in the long race at Mugello, the rider from Cervera led for the thirteen laps that the sprint in Hungary lasted. Àlex Màrquez has once again missed the Grand Prix after the serious fall he suffered in Catalunya. If all goes well, the younger brother of those from Cervera could return on June 19th to the Czech Republic.
