The last weekend of September will end up busier
Showers will reappear in some regions starting on Sunday, and temperatures will be higher and milder.

This Friday, we noticed a slight rise in temperatures. This rise will continue on Saturday, with a more moderate coolness early in the day and mild to slightly warm temperatures at midday, depending on the area. These are more normal values for the time of year, after the temperature shock of the last few days. The last weekend of September will start off fairly calm, but there will be more cloudy spells. On Sunday, cloud cover will be more abundant throughout, with some scattered showers, a situation that will remain similar for Monday. These will be very indirect effects of ex-hurricane 'Gabrielle'', which will reach the southwest of the peninsula this weekend, already converted into a storm, driving humid winds from the sea towards the land in our Mediterranean area.
Saturday: fairly calm and temperatures rising
The first day of the weekend will start fairly calmly, but low clouds will remain throughout the day along the coast, the pre-coastline, and the northeast of the country. No rain is expected, although isolated showers or drizzle cannot be ruled out on the coast and in the central pre-coastline. A few light, local showers may also fall between Mallorca and Menorca. There will be a lot of morning fog on plains and valleys, and towards the west and other inland areas, as well as the Pyrenees and the western Pre-Pyrenees, the sun will combine with bands of high, thin clouds.
Temperatures will rise further. Early in the morning, it will be autumnally cool, but more moderate than in recent days. Very mild temperatures at midday, with many highs between 20 and 25°C. However, these figures will be higher towards the west and south, creating a warmer feeling.
Sunday: most unsafe time
Ex-Hurricane Gabrielle will impact, now an extratropical storm, southern Portugal and stabilize the weather in many areas of the Peninsula. In fact, downpours with strong winds are possible in the southwest of the peninsula. Everything will be far from our home, but between Sunday and Monday, the counterclockwise direction of this storm will drive offshore winds inland, laden with moisture and instability.
Thus, cloudiness will increase everywhere on Sunday, and in some regions, the sky will even be quite heavy, especially in the Pyrenees and the Pre-Pyrenees. Scattered showers are expected in the regions of Tarragona and Castellón, as well as in parts of the Pre-Pyrenees and the southern face of the Pyrenees, especially the western one. This will be relatively light, to begin with, but some more localized sprinkles or spray cannot be ruled out in the rest of the territory.
Minimum temperatures will clearly rise due to the presence of cloudiness, with less cold at night. Maximum temperatures will be similar, with very mild temperatures in the middle of the day.

With a still high level of uncertainty, rain could fall on Monday between the Ebro and the Valencian Community, as well as in the rest of the southern Mediterranean coast of the Iberian Peninsula and the Pitiusas. A few showers cannot be ruled out. Everything will depend on the final position of the center of the storm, which, according to current maps, is expected to be located in the southern Gulf of Cádiz on Monday, strengthening maritime winds in the Mediterranean.
