Sunshine and cool weather ahead of a new front midweek.

BarcelonaSunday's weather was divided into two parts, with a morning still filled with clouds and rain in the coastal areas and a much sunnier and more pleasant atmosphere throughout the afternoon. However, temperatures remained considerably more moderate than Saturday, barely exceeding 20 or 21°C in the warmest areas of the West Bank and the interior of the Ebro Valley. Next week will begin with a similar pattern, with scattered, minor showers expected starting Wednesday.

Monday: The sun will gain ground at the start of the week.

The week will begin with once again more stable and calm weather: sunny throughout most of the country and some low clouds, especially in the northeast and central parts of the country during the morning. In fact, some minor showers could occur in this area. The wind will ease after a windy Sunday in the Empordà region and the south of the country, and temperatures will rise slightly again, although it will remain cool both day and night.

Tuesday: arrival of cloudy intervals

The weather will remain very stable on Tuesday, although we will already notice the midweek change in the weather with the arrival of bands of high clouds that will cloud the sky and move from west to east. Temperatures will rise, both day and night, and the increase in temperature will be especially evident in the Pyrenees, where this weekend the cold has already been typical for late October.

More precipitation from Wednesday onwards

Rain will reappear across the board starting Wednesday, although the intensity and extent remain to be seen. For now, weather models indicate a new round of minor precipitation, but it could affect virtually every region. This is good news for maintaining the reservoirs' healthy water reserves, which in the case of inland basins are above 73%.

Rain episode review

The rainy season that began on Saturday has now affected the entire country, although rainfall records are relatively low. This Sunday's peaks were 10.2 l/m² in Torroella de Montgrí, in the Baix Empordà region, 10.1 l/m² in Montmell (Baix Penedès region), and 8.7 l/m² in Girona. Saturday's peaks were similar, with 12.6 l/m² in Granadella, in Les Garrigues, and 12.3 l/m² in Prades, in the Baix Camp region.
