BarcelonaThe weather is going into a loop this week. Sunshine and calm anticyclonic conditions on Monday will dominate across the country in the coming days, and only afternoon clouds in mountainous areas could cause a few showers or minor thunderstorms in some parts of the Pyrenees. Warmer weather is on the horizon. In short, typical mid-July weather, with no rain and a truly summery atmosphere.

Tuesday: a day to take advantage of

The weather will remain very stable this Tuesday. Sunshine will generally dominate, and in the morning there may only be a few low clouds or occasional fog along sections of the coast or in inland valleys. All this will gradually dissipate, and towards the afternoon, dark clouds will grow again in mountain areas, potentially bringing some local, minor showers or thunderstorms to the Pyrenees, especially in the eastern part. Minor nuances will occur in a context of absolute calm. Tramuntana winds will blow throughout the day in the Empordà region, especially in the north, with rough seas.

Minimum temperatures will be similar or slightly higher. Overall, it will be a good night's sleep, with cool mornings inland and slightly tropical lows—above 20°C—only on the coast and in parts of the pre-coastal and southern inland areas. Maximum temperatures will change little, but will be highest in the Ebro and lowest on the northern side of the Pyrenees. Many temperatures will range between 27°C and 34°C, with more pronounced muggy conditions along the coast. As was the case on Monday, temperatures could reach or exceed 35°C in the West and southern inland areas.

Few changes in the short term

On Wednesday, the thermometers will jump higher, and the heat will be more intense. But during the second half of the week, temperatures will drop again. Therefore, the mercury will experience some fluctuations in temperature, with values slightly above average, but far from the levels of previous weeks.

As for the sky, calm and sunny conditions will remain throughout the country, with only a few minor afternoon showers in the Pyrenees. Between Friday and the weekend, some colder air may arrive at altitude, reactivating showers in parts of the north and west of the country. In any case, no rain or heavy storms like those seen over the weekend are expected.
