Sun and fog, with no great prospects for change in the medium term
Colder in the valleys and inland plains, milder in the rest of the country
BarcelonaThe weather will remain largely unchanged in our country over the next few days, with sunshine prevailing and fog likely inland. The weather will continue to be influenced by the anticyclone, bringing calm and mild conditions, factors that favor rising temperatures at midday. In fact, the highest temperatures this Sunday already ranged between 20°C and 22°C (reaching 22°C in Aldover and Benissanet and 20°C in Barcelona). Throughout this long weekend, we have only seen a few thin clouds associated with the fronts brushing the western Iberian Peninsula. The only notable development on the horizon is the arrival of clouds on Wednesday due to the approach of a weak Atlantic front.
Monday of the Immaculate Conception: sun and fog
Fog will return to inland areas this Monday, especially in the Pla de Lleida, where it will be cold and damp. The fog will keep temperatures down in the morning in the Ponent region, and when it lifts, highs will reach around 13°C in the city of Lleida, but where it persists, temperatures will not exceed 7 or 8°C. In Barcelona and Tarragona, temperatures will reach 19 or 20°C, as they did on Sunday, with very light winds along the coast in the morning and a choppy sea, and southwesterly winds at midday, with a slight swell. In most of the country, it will be very mild at midday, and the temperature difference between day and night will be marked. However, there will be colder areas, such as the central plateau, where persistent fog will keep temperatures below 6°C during the morning.
Skifit front for Wednesday
The high-pressure system will remain for most of the week, with no significant changes expected. The only development we'll see midweek will be increased cloud cover due to the approach of an Atlantic front, which will be relatively inactive at our latitudes. The skies will be overcast in the Pyrenees of Lleida and in the western part of the region, with morning fog alternating with thin clouds in the afternoon, making for a rather gray day. Looking ahead to next weekend, with the arrival of a new front, some light rain and snow showers are possible in the western Pyrenees, but little else is expected.
