The weather

Stability will continue into a warmer start to the week

Low coastal clouds will disappear as the hours pass.

BarcelonaThe weekend was marked by a temperature contrast, with an unusually warm Saturday for the time of year and a much cooler Sunday, with some precipitation in coastal and pre-coastal areas (you'll find some of the most notable temperature records at the end of this article). The weather will remain very stable early next week, with sunshine gaining ground and temperatures gradually rising again. The situation could change starting midweek, when some precipitation could occur.

Monday: cloudy intervals

The week will start with fairly stable and calm weather, with no risk of precipitation, but still with some coastal cloud cover and a few harmless afternoon thunderclouds. Overall, sunny conditions will prevail, with the wind weakening after strengthening on Sunday, although a moderate tramontana wind will remain in Empordà. Rain is expected in coastal areas of Valencia and Alicante, where rainfall could occasionally exceed 15 or 20 l/m².

Tuesday: sun and rising temperatures

Looking ahead to Tuesday, we'll notice the temperature rise even further, once again hovering around 26 or 28°C in the West and inland parts of the Ebro Valley, with a moderate but increasingly noticeable warmth. The sun will remain dominant almost everywhere, although there will be cloudy patches in the southern half that will tend to disappear as the hours pass.

Possible rain during the second half of the week

Maps indicate that atmospheric instability could become evident again between Thursday and Friday of next week, when an increased risk of precipitation is expected, along with a possible episode of rain, again widespread and heavy in some regions. The situation will change considerably because there are still many days to go, but it will need to be monitored closely.
