The Falset Wine Fair, a great oenological and musical event that transcends the borders of Priorat

FalsetThe Falset Wine Fair (Showcase and Market of Wines from DOQ Priorat and DO Montsant) once again bets on cultural and territorial alliances as an integral part of its program, having reissued collaborations from recent years with the cities of Reus and Tarragona, the Fair of Emerging and Family Music of Vila-seca and the Garbinada Pop festival. As a result of this understanding, the Wine Fair weekend (from May 1 to 3) will feature the presence of the cities of Reus and Tarragona, and a series of concerts and shows have been programmed for both a general and family audience.

“The Falset Wine Fair is a unique showcase that, today, is not only a local event, but has transcended the limits of the Priorat region. Another of the Fair's virtues has been finding the balance between its recreational soul and its wine-making soul, so we understand that it is completely natural for us to forge alliances with other towns, cities, and cultural events,” states the mayor of Falset and president of the event's organizing committee, Carlos Brull.

As a result of this commitment, the cities of Reus and Tarragona will have a presence in Falset during the event days, which last year was visited by around 35,000 visitors with an interest in oenological, gastronomic, and cultural tourism. While the Tarragona City Council has opted to attend the event with a cultural and tourist stand, the Reus City Council has chosen to bring the animation show “Modernism near wine” to Falset, on the occasion of the Gaudí Year being celebrated in 2026. The itinerant show will take place from 5:45 PM on Saturday, May 2, in front of the Fair's stage.

The FiM concertsRegarding FiM –Emergent and Family Music Fair (www.fim.cat)– and the Wine Fair, the town councils of Falset and Vila-seca have decided to renew the collaboration agreement they first established in 2023. The alliance is formalized by the programming of two performances by FiM in Falset and, in return, the presence at FiM of a series of activities related to the world of wine from the Priorat region, such as tastings or samplings.

The two FiM performances in Falset will take place on Friday, May 1st, on the fairground stage. In the morning (1:00 PM), it will be the turn of a show aimed at families: “Hem vingut a jugar” (We have come to play), by the group Sardines en Llauna. An invitation to reclaim the street as a space for freedom, creativity, and shared fun. The new album by a group that has received creation support from FiM Vila-seca, in the area of artistic accompaniment, and which offers its pre-premiere at the Falset Wine Fair.

In the afternoon (6:30 PM), the audience of the Wine Fair will have the opportunity to enjoy Terrae and their show “Nostre gra” (Our grain). Terrae offers a sonic explosion that pays attention to the smallest detail, from the delicacy of an intimate, roots-based voice to curious percussions, filtered through modernity.

One of the objectives of the agreement is to join forces to give projection and centrality to the territory, through two fairs that have become national benchmarks in their respective fields. This agreement is part of FiM Vila-seca's commitment to establishing collaborations with institutions and cultural agents in the territory, in order to highlight the social and cultural contributions they make to the country as a whole.

FiM Vila-seca, organized by the Vila-seca Town Council, will celebrate its 22nd edition from May 7th to 10th, 2026, consolidating itself as a showcase and market for emerging modern music and family music shows made in Catalonia.

Garbinada PopRegarding the Garbinada Pop Festival (www.garbinadapop.cat) proposal at the fairgrounds, it will take place on Saturday, May 2nd (6:30 PM), with a concert by The Rhythm Treasures, a quintet that will offer us a rhythmic and high-intensity sound experience. The band presents their album All Around The World (Sleazy Records), an album directly linked to the roots of the most authentic rhythm & blues.

Garbinada Pop is a festival promoted by the company Plujafina with the aim of providing Falset with a stable program featuring some of the best musical groups on the independent pop/rock scene and music from Catalonia. Since 2021, the festival has programmed concerts by Els Pets, Petit de Cal Eril, Mishima, Quimi Portet, Xarim Aresté, The Tyets, 31 Fam, Buhos, and Els Catarres, among others.

The Falset Wine FairIn parallel, the Falset Wine Fair programs two concerts at its own initiative at the fairgrounds. These are the performances by Stromboli Jazz Band on Saturday, May 2nd, and by Sardines on Sunday, May 3rd, in both cases at 1:00 PM and on the fairgrounds stage.

Stromboli Jazz Band is much more than a jazz and swing band; it is an experience that combines the joy of dixieland with the elegance of classic jazz, the vibrant rhythm of swing, and a fusion of other musical styles. Composed of professional musicians from Camp de Tarragona, this band brings not only great experience and training to their performances but also a stage presence that knows how to connect with the audience.

Sardines is a cover band that captures the essence of funk, soul, and rock and roll, with a vibrant stage presence, where passion and musical quality are the main protagonists. A classic of the Wine Fair that now adds Pau Terol on keyboards, a renowned musician from Reus who elevates the band's live performance.
