The Márquez family pays tribute to Montmeló with a fight between brothers
Àlex wins on the Catalan circuit and Marc will still have to wait to have the chance to seal a World Championship that is close at hand.

BarcelonaThe weekend of motorcycling in Montmeló was dominated by two names: brothers Marc and Àlex Márquez. While on Saturday the elder of the Cervera brothers snatched victory from his brother almost at the finish line, Àlex led and won this Sunday a Grand Prix that marks his second victory in the premier class, both this season after having achieved it in Jerez.
Àlex's technical riding and race management were key to securing the victory against a Marco who preferred to be more conservative than on other occasions. The Catalan dynasty of the Márquez family delighted the spectators who traveled to the Catalan circuit, and with Àlex's victory, Marc will still not have a matchball Next week at Misano, at the San Marino GP, he will try to seal a championship that is close at hand and that only he can lose. Italian Enea Bastianini rounded out the podium.
Roser Alentà, the mother of the two Márquez brothers, was the first to celebrate her youngest son's victory at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. "He's a hard worker, he deserves it. Marc will do it!" a proud mother told DAZN.
"Álex was the best. On the fourth lap, on the straight, I had the chance to overtake him, but I decided to close the throttle and keep my distance from those behind me," said the elder Márquez in his first appearance after stepping off the podium and taking a photo with former Barça player Carles Puyol, who was in charge of raising the finish line flag.
"I feel very good. I'm still reeling from yesterday's race, but today things worked out. I managed the entire race; it was a race of self-control, and in the last six laps I pushed to see if I could win or finish second," said the newly crowned champion at the Gran Premi de Catalunya. Àlex celebrated the victory by waving a flag.
