BarcelonaA tourist bus caught fire this Friday afternoon at around 4:30 p.m. on Barcelona's Avinguda Diagonal, at the intersection with Carrer Rosselló. The fire has been extinguished, the passengers were evacuated, and no injuries were reported. However, traffic was blocked in the area and five Barcelona Fire Brigade units were activated, according to municipal sources.
Specifically, traffic is blocked on Avinguda Diagonal between Carrer Bruc and Carrer Pau Claris, on Carrer Roger de Llúria from Carrer Provença, and on Carrer Rosselló from Carrer Passeig de Gràcia. This has affected several city bus lines that pass through this area. These are lines 8, 6, 33, 34, 39, 47, and 114, as traffic is blocked at the location of the fire, according to Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona (TMB). Stops 146, 1080, 1089, and 3874 have been canceled.
Due to this incident, the 112 emergency line has received around fifty calls.
