The Catalan Waste Agency (ARC) plans to close half of the 25 active landfills by 2035. Specifically, those in Lloret de Mar, Llagostera, Banyoles, Beuda, Espluga de Francolí, Granadella, Borges Blanques, Cervera, Tàrrega, Balaguer, Berga, and Bell.
