BarcelonaThe port of Barcelona will receive almost 9,000 people this weekend for the third edition of the open house day. The president of the institution, José Alberto Carbonell, has celebrated the success of the first day, which sold out all tickets and was marked by activities of all colors and tastes, both in and out of the water. One of the highlights of this Saturday was the ship dance, in which attendees could see a choreography of boats in the sea firsthand. Through this dance, unprecedented until now in the waters of the port of Barcelona, several boats coordinated their movements to offer a maritime spectacle without precedent to the 2,500 people who visited the facilities.

They also had the opportunity to take land and sea routes to discover the port's operations in more depth. The forecast is that some 2,500 more people will participate on Sunday, according to the institution. On land, attendees can visit the facilities by bus and discover the most interesting corners, such as the container terminals and the Llobregat lighthouse. However, there is also the possibility of sailing on its waters, as well as taking a theatricalized historical route to learn about the institution's past, from its origins to its daily activity. For Carbonell, having sold out all tickets is a demonstration of the interest in learning more about the port of Barcelona.

"It is an activity for which we have a firm decision to continue doing in the future," the president assured about the open house day. In this third edition, the price of the ticket, one euro each, will be entirely donated to the Stella Maris Barcelona association, a Catholic organization, and to the Foundation for the Conservation and Recovery of Marine Animals (CRAM), which works for the protection of marine biodiversity, reintroduces recovered animals, and promotes awareness about the protection of the sea.

Race against cancer

This Sunday, there will also be around 4,000 people running in the race organized by the Association Against Cancer of Barcelona, which will take place in various areas of the port of Barcelona and has been co-organized by both institutions. The activity has three different modalities. A 5-kilometer race that will be timed and is designed for those who want to test themselves and improve their time; a two-kilometer race designed to be walked or shared with family, and a children's race so that the little ones can also participate and collaborate with the cause.
