The violent death of a woman in Hospitalet de Llobregat is under investigation.
The victim reportedly fell from his apartment, and the Mossos d'Esquadra (Catalan police) are questioning his son.
BarcelonaHer name was Neus, and she was about 70 years old. She lived in her lifelong apartment with her son, who was about 40. It's a mezzanine apartment on Llobregat Street in L'Hospitalet. Living there wasn't easy, according to people close to her. Shouting and insults were often heard, which had even led to police intervention on occasion. This Tuesday, a few minutes before 1:00 a.m., neighbors heard a loud crash that made them look out their windows: they saw Neus lying on the street. The main police hypothesis is that the woman fell from her apartment window. After being taken to the hospital, she died from her injuries. The Mossos d'Esquadra (Catalan police) have opened an investigation and are still unsure whether it was a homicide, an accidental death, or a suicide. However, the son is being held at a police station and is being questioned to find out what happened. At this point, the circumstances of this incident are still not entirely clear, and therefore, for the moment, the Mossos d'Esquadra (Catalan police) have not taken the step of arresting him. Furthermore, according to sources close to the investigation, the son has diagnosed mental health problems, and his account is not entirely consistent. This fact is also reported by [sources]. For now, the Mossos d'Esquadra investigators are holding the victim's son to speak with him and try to clarify if he is connected to the fall. The police have not concluded that it was a homicide, but the possibility that someone threw him out of the window is one of the hypotheses being considered. An accidental fall or suicide has also not been ruled out. As has been reported The Vanguard And the ARA has confirmed that the emergency call was received this Tuesday at 12:30 a.m. The woman was taken to a hospital, but died from her injuries.
