BarcelonaNew round of statements for the Andic case. This Friday, the sisters of Jonathan and daughters of Isak Andic, founder of Mango, appeared at the Martorell courts. Sara Andic and Judith Andic testified for approximately one hour each and, according to family sources, have stood by their brother, who is being investigated for the death of his father.

"After 18 months and without yet having had the necessary space of calm to process the grief for the painful death of their father, the Andic sisters maintain the absolute conviction that the truth will ultimately prevail regarding their brother Jonathan's innocence and they are confident that everything will eventually be clarified," state family sources.

But what did the two sisters tell the courts, beyond defending the firstborn? Sara and Judith Andic have tried to downplay the economic motive that the judge, the prosecutor, and the Mossos see in the death of Isak Andic.

According to judicial sources, they explained that they were aware of their father's plans to establish a foundation and that the children were actively involved in it. In other words, they described that there was communication between father and children on economic matters and that there was transparency. In fact, they specified that they met once a year to update the inheritance, to the point that donations made by the father to the children were deducted. In this regard, they pointed out that economic compensation was made so that the three children were balanced.

According to judicial sources, the sisters also explained that Jonathan Andic wanted to leave his executive functions at Mango and that he agreed with the company exit process that was also being prepared at that same time. In fact, he had various personal and business ambitions that could be linked to the inheritance in life that was being negotiated to launch them.

Doubts about therapy

Before, however, it was the turn of a psychiatrist who also treated the Andics. Specifically, the therapist who was treating them referred the case to this professional, Antoni Bulbena, professor of Psychiatry at the Autonomous University of Barcelona. As previously explained,, the coach of the Andics insisted on the importance of the father giving an inheritance in life to the son so that he would have more personal and economic autonomy and independence. It was a psychoanalytic therapy following the ideas of Sigmund Freud and the metaphorical death of the father.

The professor received the two Andics one day because, according to judicial sources, the therapist's strategy was not working well and he recommended that they go to him. Judicial sources indicate that the psychiatrist explained that the therapist attached great importance to the figure of the inheritance in life, a fact with which he did not entirely agree. The defense maintains that Jonathan Andic never received the inheritance.

The psychiatrist also explained that the father and son wanted to fix things. In his case, he could avail himself of professional secrecy —the therapist declared on Monday and could not do so because she is not registered— but he waived this right and answered all questions.
