Tomàs Carrión will return to his civil servant position in Santa Coloma de Gramenet
BarcelonaThe until now Secretary General of the Department of the Interior of the Generalitat, Tomàs Carrión, has resigned from his position as the number two of the ministry, as sources from the ministry have explained to ARA. Carrión is the second right-hand man of a ministry that will leave his post this Monday, after this morning the Minister of Education, Esther Niubó, announced the replacement of the Secretary General of Education, Teresa Sambola, in the appearance to give explanations about the fiasco with the PISA tests sample.
The move at the Interior Department, which was first reported by El Periódico, is due to a personal decision. According to Interior sources, Carrión has communicated "his desire to leave the department of his own volition" to return to his position at the Santa Coloma de Gramenet City Council and "start a new stage and a new life project".
The same sources added that the Minister of the Interior, Núria Parlon, "especially thanks his work, which he has carried out with great professionalism, extraordinary dedication, and a clear willingness to serve". The department also values that during his time in office, Carrión has also contributed to "promoting and reorganizing various internal circuits of the department, which today function more efficiently".
