BarcelonaIt was four in the afternoon when a man, his wife, and their son were sitting on the terrace of a bar in the Sant Martí district of Barcelona. The sun was shining, and they were not alone on the terrace. The son was resting in a stroller next to the table. Suddenly, some people appeared and shot the man indiscriminately. A witness heard five shots from his house. "At first, I thought they were firecrackers," he explains. Later, however, he poked his head out of the balcony and saw a man lying on the ground, covered in blood.

The Mossos d'Esquadra are already investigating this new shooting in Catalonia. The Catalan police received the alert at 3:50 PM on Passeig Taulat in the city, an area near the beach and the Fórum. The System of Medical Emergencies (SEM) teams transferred the man in critical condition to a hospital. Before that, they performed several resuscitation maneuvers at the scene of the shooting. His prognosis is very delicate, and he is between life and death. His wife and son were unharmed, according to sources consulted by ARA.

The police are currently searching for two or three people involved in the shooting, as this newspaper has learned. Based on the method they used, it all points to an attempted execution: they approached the man and shot only him. Then they fled. These techniques often respond to drug-related revenge, although there is still no main hypothesis for the trigger of the attack.

According to sources consulted by ARA, the victim is a person originally from Eastern Europe. Quickly, the Mossos and the Guardia Urbana of Barcelona cordoned off all exits near the scene, but so far, they have not been able to locate the perpetrators. They are also reviewing security cameras and looking to see if they find any of the weapons they used, as they usually abandon them after shootings.
