First important fire of the season controlled in Segarra
The fire has burned about 50 hectares of agricultural and forest vegetation and has mobilized about fifty ground and air resources
BarcelonaThe Generalitat Firefighters have declared the first major fire of the summer season stabilized this afternoon. It is a fire of agricultural and forest vegetation in Sanaüja (Segarra). The alert was received at one in the afternoon and it started near the Masia dels Flares, on the border with the municipality of Biosca (Solsonès).
Initially, the fire burned a haystack and a low-intensity cultivated field, but the flames spread rapidly and began to burn forest mass.
About fifty fire department units have deployed to the area, a dozen of which are aerial, including helicopters and small planes. Ground crews are attempting to control the flames in the agricultural area, while aerial resources are focusing their efforts on slowing the progression in the forest area. The fire affects approximately 50 hectares of land.
