The PSPV now rules out a motion of censure and calls for early elections in the Valencian Community.
The Socialists argue that it is the only solution given that "the numbers don't add up" to remove Mazón.

Valencia"The ballot boxes are the only way out." This was the message delivered this Wednesday by the secretary general of the PSPV (Spanish Socialist Workers' Party), Diana Morant, who called for early elections in the Valencian Community to allow the removal of the head of the Consell (Consell), Carlos Mazón, given that he does not intend to resign over his management of the DANA (National Council of Science, Innovation, and Universities). The request by the Minister of Science, Innovation, and Universities represents a new twist for the Valencian Socialists, who first called for Mazón's resignation and the appointment of a technical president to temporarily lead the reconstruction; A few weeks ago they were betting on a motion of censure just as Compromís has been demanding since the beginning of the crisis, and now they are finally calling for elections because "the numbers don't add up for a motion of censure," since a favorable vote from Vox would be necessary.
During a speech at the PSPV headquarters in Valencia, Morant complained that, despite the reputational crisis of the Generalitat, Carlos Mazón is "entrenched" and the leader of the Popular Party, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, "silent." That is why he argued that it is time for Valencians to "recover their voice" at the ballot boxes and for the voice of the streets "to be reflected in the institutions." "Today the numbers don't add up, but they do go out onto the streets. The urgent thing is to vote and rebuild: vote to rebuild," he insisted.
Regarding the PSPV's change of script, Morant argued that now a motion of censure "would only generate frustration" and would be a waste of time. For the minister, "Mazón's resignation so that another PP official can replace him" would not be the solution either. According to Morant, it is the people of Valencia "who must decide the political responsibilities" of the current Consell and, most especially, of its president.
For the leader of the PSPV (Spanish Socialist Workers' Party), the Valencian Community is suffering from a situation of inaction because the PP (People's Party) is more concerned with "its political reconstruction" than with that of the area affected by the DANA (National Flood Damage). She also criticized the "complicit silence" of both the leader of the Popular Party, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, and the entire PP and Vox. The socialist leader asserted that "Mazón could have left" after the DANA (National Flood Damage), "the PP could have fired him, and Feijóo could have dismissed him," but "no one wanted to," and said that now none of these solutions "work." She added that judicial responsibility for the catastrophe will be settled in the courts and that "the people of Valencia are the ones who must decide political responsibilities with their vote."
Commission of Inquiry in the Congress of Deputies
On the other hand, Morant has demanded to "know the truth" about everything that happened on October 29th in a commission of inquiry into the DANA (National Anti-Drug Trafficking Act) in the Congress of Deputies: "We demand every invoice, every receipt, and that those responsible be brought to justice." The reason for the PSPV's general secretary is that it will be impossible to know the whole truth in the commissions of inquiry in the Cortes and the Senate if, as is currently the case, they are chaired by Vox and the PP, respectively.
