The case that has brought the Ceuta crisis and Ayuso's penthouse to court

MadridAn “anti-party” that “does not align with any ideology” and rejects the “regime of 78” is responsible for the National High Court investigating the massive entry of migrants into Ceuta and that, in parallel, a court in Madrid has opened a criminal case regarding the purchase of the luxury penthouse for Isabel Díaz Ayuso. It is Iustitia Europa, a group known for intervening as popular prosecution in judicial cases involving the PSOE environment and which will make the leap to general elections in 2027. “We are transversal and we defend that the solution to corruption must come from civil society. After almost fifty years, we have a serious problem in Spain and we must move away from left-wing and right-wing ideologies,” defends its president, Luis María Pardo, in conversation with ARA.

In recent times, Iustitia Europa has had a special prominence in the cases that splash Pedro Sánchez. It is involved as popular prosecution in the Koldo case, in the investigation into Begoña Gómez, and in the David Sánchez case, which was convicted a month ago. In fact, it has now requested the Court of Auditors to open proceedings so that the brother of the Spanish president returns the 340,000 euros he received from the Badajoz Provincial Council. In addition, it is involved in the Leire Díez case and in the investigation of the Adamuz train accident.

It also participates in the Plus Ultra case, where it was in favor of ordering provisional detention for José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero: “Spain cannot afford the possibility of having another Puigdemont,” he justified. Likewise, it has launched an offensive against the Law of Grandchildren, which allows descendants of exiles during the 20th century to obtain nationality: it filed a complaint with the Electoral Board to preserve the “purity of the electoral roll” and took the case to the Supreme Court, which will hold a hearing to study precautionary measures on September 7. Also the PP and Vox, like Junts, question this norm.

Likewise, Iustitia Europa has been involved in cases affecting the PP. “When we get rid of the corrupt Spanish party, the rotten party will come”, Luis María Pardo stated a year ago after "receive an award from Hazte Oír. It is personalized as popular accusation in the Montoro case to the courts of Tarragona and presented a complaint against Carlos Mazón for the management of the DANA in the Valencian Country for having "left the population unprotected". He also filed a lawsuit against Pedro Sánchez and two ministers. He is now considering intervening in the investigation into the purchase of masks by the Provincial Council of Almería, in which former high-ranking PP officials are charged.

As a lawyer, Luis María Pardo burst into the courts following the pandemic. Among other things, he managed to get the TSJ of Aragon suspended the obligation of the covid passport in leisure and restaurant establishments and that the TSJ of Asturias annulled the suspension of salary of a worker for refusing to undergo PCR tests every two days. Later, he started a campaign against the obligation of the mask in certain healthcare facilities in Aragon.

What does Iustitia Europa think?

At the end of September, Iustitia Europa, which is financed by member fees and without public subsidies, will formalize its candidacy for the general elections. A survey commissioned by the party predicts that it would win four seats in Madrid; 400,000 votes and 11% of the ballots. “People are not asleep, they are angry and very aware of what is happening. We rescue many people from abstention and make them vote,” says Luis María Pardo to ARA. It will not be their first electoral adventure: in 2024 they ran in the European elections and obtained 26,600 votes, 0.15% of the ballots.

Among other things, the party wants to promote a deep constitutional reform and enable the direct election of the President of the Government. “We live kidnapped by a regime that makes us believe we are free. Spain needs a break with the regime of '78, which has led us to unknown limits of corruption and moral decay,” the party maintains in its declaration of principles.

On immigration, Iustitia Europa advocates for an end to “rescues turned into illegal taxis” to the coast: “Thousands of illegals who saturate public services and generate insecurity,” it says. In education, it considers classrooms to be “indoctrination centers.” Furthermore, it has filed two appeals with the High Court of Justice of Catalonia against the low-emission zones of Manlleu and Reus, which it believes are “part of the Agenda 2030's objectives for the destruction of society.”

Netanyahu and hantavirus

Israel has also put itself in the crosshairs. In addition, three months ago he requested that the National Court urgently suspend the disembarkation of the Hondius, the ship that was carrying hantavirus-infected people and stopped in Tenerife. He wanted to prevent the Canary Islands from becoming a “laboratory of health improvisation”, but the judge dismissed the request.
