That is why next week's meeting in New York is relevant: as reported by El País and confirmed by sources from the Moncloa to ARA, the Spanish president, Pedro Sánchez, will share an event with the American left-wing mayor, Zohran Mamdani, who has become the counterweight to Donald Trump in the United States.

On the other hand, the Spanish government has also officially announced an official visit by the French president, Emmanuel Macron, to the State on September 29th and 30th. It will be at the highest level and occurs at a moment of weakness for both presidents: they have unfavorable polls and are facing a rise of the right and the far-right, even though they are two heavyweights of the European Union. Furthermore, it coincides with the signing of the friendship treaty between both countries, pending ratification due to the PP's veto in the Cortes.
