Four former mayors of Tarragona are being sent to trial for alleged embezzlement and malfeasance.

The National Court has scheduled the trial of the Efial case for September and October 2026, alleging illicit services between a consulting firm and Catalan city councils to circumvent the opinions of municipal officials and alter bidding procedures.
