A participant in 'The Big Date' confesses to being a gigolo: "They pay me to do something I would do for free"
Alexis Gardes confirms to 'El suplement' that "accompanying women" has been one of his jobs as an entrepreneur
BarcelonaAlexis, one of the participants of La gran cita, the reality show from 3Cat to find a partner presented by Dulceida, confessed on El suplement on Catalunya Ràdio that he works as a gigolo. "I tried it and I loved it. I haven't talked about it because people can't imagine what it's like, the people you meet and the experiences you have. And I'll do it again, because it has taught me a lot of things," he defended.
A few days ago, on the podcast of another participant, Xavi Furriol, Alexis already hinted that he had had sexual experiences, "perhaps with money involved", and that he was available on a gigolo website. Furthermore, there are photos about it that were leaked on social media. "I don't consider myself a gigolo. I have provided companionship – he said –. I have accompanied women to feel better and to develop themselves sexually", and he added that he is not currently active.
These statements had already been discussed on various gossip programs, and this Sunday the protagonist went to Catalunya Ràdio to give them more prominence. Gardes admitted to having a profile on the Gigolós Barcelona agency, where he presents himself as an athletic physiotherapist. "I have been with names that everyone knows, people I would never have associated with," he said, detailing that they were famous women. The guy doesn't see it as selling his body but his time, he explained to Roger Escapa. "All salaried employees sell their time every day. I sell my time to whomever I want and when I want," he states. Alexis detailed how the dates work, where sex is not an obligation. He charged 300 euros per hour.
"My time has value, like everyone who works – he states –. If someone wants to pay me for something I would do for free, I won't say no. I'm an entrepreneur. They pay me to do something I would do for free. Why not? It seems intelligent to me. Many people would do it and don't want to admit it," he adds. He assures that his limit is doing what he would do for free and, for example, he has not accepted thousands of euros to be with guys.
Gardes explained that the girls who hired him are of great "quality," that they are not desperate girls or ones who have trouble finding a partner, but rather "girls you can admire," between 25 and 40 years old. "It surprised me, because they are women with whom everyone would want to spend time," he said. Alexis said he did it simply because he likes it, "it's super cool, I'm not ashamed to say it at all," although as Escapa pointed out to him, he didn't tell the partner he matched with on La gran cita, nor the program's producers. "I also didn't tell him I had been a professional rugby player, and I'm just as proud of that," the guy concludes.
