BarcelonaA new twist in the series about television host and comedian Frank Cuesta, also known as Frank de la Jungla. Hours after he published a video on Tuesday admitting that he has been lying to his viewers for years, he himself retracted his words. In a YouTube live stream, he asserted that his confessions were scripted and that he made them to stop a campaign of "harassment" against him. "I posted a video of a script that was sent to me [...]. If I made that video, all that harassment would stop," he asserted.

Years of lies and purchased animals

The new change of story came after the alleged revelation of his deception, in a video statement that was later deleted, made headlines everywhere. "I have to admit that I've been a character and that little by little it has gotten out of hand due to a serious problem of mythomania and ego," Cuesta stated. Among the confessions he made in the deleted video, the Spaniard living in Thailand explained that it's not true that he has cancer, as he had previously stated: "I've been treating for myelodysplasia for years, but I don't have cancer," he stated, adding that "all the animals in the sanctuary—which he claims—are sanctuary," he said.

In recent weeks, controversies and accusations have surfaced between him and his former right-hand man, known as Chi. The root of the problem is said to lie three months ago, when the Thai authorities The Spaniard was arrested for illegal possession of wild animalsAt that point, Chi was targeted as a potential anonymous whistleblower. Cuesta distanced himself from him and didn't deny that he was the one who had reported him, which angered his former assistant. In this context, Chi decided to start leaking audio recordings on social media in which the former TV host talked about buying wild animals.

In fact, Chi had asked Cuesta to publicly confess to all the lies he had told over the past few years, assuring him that if he did, he would withdraw a complaint he had filed against him. As a result, several of the Spaniard's followers on Tuesday refused to believe Cuesta's words and claimed that the confession was the result of a "threat." Cuesta later backed up this version on the live stream, where he claimed he had been forced to make the statement about his alleged lies.

Shortly after the video confession, and before the live stream where he retracted his confession, Cuesta published another one addressed to his ex-wife, Yuyee, and her new husband, Kris. He was engaged in a war with them over ownership of the enclosure where he keeps the animals, which is in Yuyee's name. In the statement, the ex-wife apologized for the accusations against him and denied that she is a drug addict or that she drinks alcohol. "She has been recovering in the Narcotics Anonymous community since 2013," he said. He also asserted that his ex-wife had never abused their children.
