The city of the "popes"

The Pope's visit to Catalonia, which counts on Montserrat and Sagrada Família as world emblems of Christian pilgrimage, coincides with the selectivity exams of our hardworking and always most tender adolescents. Among these students, do not doubt it, there are —there must be— our substitutes and who knows if the Pope's own.

Barcelona will be, like Avignon, “the city of popes”. There will be the Pope, blessing urbi et orbi (or right or wrong, if you prefer it in Catalan) and the popes, who will have to accompany the offspring to the different faculties where they will be examined, especially if they come from towns where there is only Rodalies. There will be the Pope's security forces, the Pope's fans, the curious, and the tourists. If normally entering Barcelona via Diagonal is already difficult, that day arriving in the capital will be more difficult than a copulation between pigeons (which is difficult, because he always falls off her body).

It seems to me that the Pope should do us a favor as our distinguished visitor. Bless all the boys and girls (some of whom are fighting for grades as high as the sacred crane) so that they can enter their future careers. I am not asking for a miracle, of course, although I would appreciate it, but I am asking for a general dispensation for all these kids. The Pope can intercede with our rulers to achieve this general pass that young Catalans deserve. I ask him this because achieving that Rodalies works that day is a task that neither he nor his heavenly captains can accomplish.
