Catalonia’s Health Department launches Cat@salut La meva salut, a tool that allows access to diagnoses, reports, and medication plans

BarcelonaCat@Salut-La meva Salut (Cat@Health-My health) is a tool that can be accessed via the internet, but which is personal and non-transferable. On this website, any patient can access their clinical records on-line -- from the place, time, and device (tablet, mobile phone, or computer) of their choice--: medical reports, test results, vaccination schedules, or diagnostic tests.
As reported earlier by this newspaper, the new tool will also allow patients to look up their medication plan or access a living will document. In the near term, new services will be added: it will be possible to do paperwork on-line --such as to request the reimbursement of the euro per prescription-- and users will even be able to add data to their patient record that they have collected themselves. The goal, according to Josep Maria Padrosa, Director of CatSalut, is to empower the patient in matters of their own health.
Users can access this volume of information with a user name and a password that they can request in their Primary Care Center (CAP). Since the beginning of the trial period, the CAPs have processed more than 10,000 requests.
This new service has already been implemented in the healthcare regions of Tarragona, Lleida, Girona, the Terres de l´Ebre, the Pyrenees, and Central Catalonia. Between the months of May and July it will be implemented in Barcelona and its metropolitan area, the Maresme, and the eastern and western Vallès.
