Vella, Minyons and Vilafranca launch the season of the 9 castles
The groups seal a weekend full of news

The second weekend of May saw the first nine-man towers of the year. And it did so three times, with the debuts of the four-man tower from the Colla Vella and the three-man tower from the Minyons of Terrassa and the Castellers of Vilafranca. What's more, the Penedès team performed twice, on Saturday and Sunday.
The three groups took advantage of their performances to bring more new additions. The Greens performed in the form of five-man towers with eight and two-man towers with eight; the Egarenses team displayed the five-man tower and the six-man tower, and the Vallencs team displayed the seven-man tower.
Among the weekend's new additions were the first 2 of 8s with a lining by the Capgrossos de Mataró and the Marrecs de Salt in Girona, preceded by a failed attempt by the Girona-based band. In the same performance, the Sagals de Osona unloaded the first 4 of 8 of the season.
From the 8-piece lineup, four groups debuted the 3 of 8: the Marrecs themselves, as well as Sants, Vila de Gràcia, and Sabadell. Meanwhile, the Joven de Tarragona band brought out the 6-piece pillar, while the Mataró-based band left it in charge. For their part, Castellers de Sant Cugat have also made the 4 of 8.
Other groups have revalidated high-level constructions such as the Moixiganguers de Igualada with a new triplet of 8 and the Castellers de Lleida with the 4 of 8.
