Taking advantage of the Education Fair, the Taller de Músics presents a phase of consolidation and growth that confirms the momentum begun three years ago. Below, Vicenç Solsona and Clara Luna, the center's pedagogical director and head of the Ve area respectively, discuss the evolution of the educational project and the students' professional prospects.

Vicente Solsona (VS): In recent years we have worked intensively to strengthen our pedagogical model without losing our identity. The Taller de Músics has always been an artistic space, but today we can affirm that it is once again experiencing a resurgence in educational excellence. We have strengthened and restructured strategic areas across all grade levels, renewed our teams, and expanded our international reach.

Clara Luna (CL): In the Voice Area, the department has been progressively consolidating and strengthening. The Jazz and Modern Music Performance specialization is now a solid pillar, while we have also developed a distinctive approach with the specialization of songwritingUnique in Catalonia at the higher education level, this institution boasts renowned figures within the country's singer-songwriter scene, such as Gemma Humet, Jazmín Boada, and Anaïs Vila. We understand that training an artist today goes far beyond vocal technique: it involves guiding them in the construction of their own creative and stage presence.

VS: This identity is not only reflected in the areas of performance, where jazz and modern music have been the cornerstone of our training, but also in other specialties such as flamenco or Latin music, which allow students to experience music from real collective practice, with a very high level of artistic demand.

CL: For me, stage practice is key to training. This year we have taken an important step by promoting a ensemble The vocalist who is participating in Amaia's tour is a great example of how the students' artistic level can perfectly match that of large-scale productions and the real professional circuit. These experiences place them directly in the reality of the profession.

Clara Luna is in charge of the Voice area of the center.

VS: Also noteworthy is the addition of young, highly qualified faculty with a strong stage presence, such as Lucas Martínez, Vicente López, and Oriol Vallès. This renewal fosters a natural transmission of knowledge between generations. Many of the teachers were once students and are now artistic role models.

CL: Certainly, all of this is further enhanced by the constant increase in Erasmus students. Each year we welcome more European students, and the mobility of our students to international institutions is also on the rise, which greatly enriches the community and broadens their artistic and professional horizons. Furthermore, we faculty also benefit from the Erasmus+ teaching mobility program, which allows us to learn firsthand what is being done at other European higher education institutions, share methodologies, and return to the classroom with new tools.

VS: The transition from classroom to stage is fundamental to our model. Our Management and Productions Department connects young musicians with festivals and real venues, providing support that extends beyond the academic sphere.

CL: Another element that has far exceeded the students' expectations is the masterclass of recent years. The presence of top-level international artists has generated extraordinary educational experiences.

VS: Indeed. We've had musicians like Michael Mayo and Antonio Sánchez share their creative processes and artistic vision with our students. We also have Shai Maestro as our resident artist. Furthermore, changes to the composition degree program have allowed us to host renowned musicians such as Joan Albert Amargós, Lluís Vidal, and Dani López. masterclassThese experiences not only inspire, but also raise the level of artistic rigor and ambition.

CL: All of this confirms that the Workshop is experiencing a moment of maturity and expansion. We have evolved, we have grown, and we maintain our undiminished passion for training artists with their own identity—curious and open-minded artists who seek inspiration in all kinds of music and build their own language from this diversity.

VS: This is the message we bring to the Hall of Teaching: the Workshop is a space where academic excellence, stage experience, and international reach coexist naturally. An artistic home open to the world.
