BarcelonaAfter a successful season, and still reeling from the league title, Barça is already starting to think about next season. In an interview last night on the special program Night of Champions On TV3, Laporta has spoken about Barça's return to the Camp Nou. The Barça president has assumed that the team will no longer play at Montjuïc and has set the opening of the new stadium for August 9 or 10, when the Joan Gamper Trophy match will take place. "This coming season we will go to the Spotify Camp Nou and, if all goes well, we will start by doing a pilot test at the Gamper," he stated. "We are working with this hypothesis and it will surely be so," he added. The president explained that the idea is for the first official match at the ground to take place in late September or early October, provided that La Liga allows Barça to play the first matches away from home. From then on, however, there will be a "progressive" return in terms of works and services: "Members will be able to see how the works evolve as the season progresses."

Another of the folders on the table for next season is the renovation of the star of the moment, Lamine YamalThe young man from Rocafonda, who will reach the age of majority on July 13, has a contract until June 2026, but Joan Laporta is optimistic about formalizing his continuity at the club. In an interview last night on the special program Night of Champions From TV3, the Barça president admitted that in cases like these, "you always have to suffer," but added that the renewal "is being worked on and everything points to it going well." "It's been discussed, it's pretty much done, but the signature is still missing," he summarized.

Both Lamine Yamal and his representative, Jorge Mendes, have expressed their desire in the past for the player to remain at Barça. For this to be possible, according to Laporta, it is necessary to "unite the interests and aspirations of the player with the interests of the club." "Today, we can undertake a transaction of this type and we will do so, and we hope there is understanding on the other side," he said of the player and his entourage, with whom he assured there is good communication and rapport. "We want to have Lamine for many years and I believe this will become a reality [...] This must end well," he reiterated.

The details of Lamine Yamal's future new contract will have to be worked out "in a very specific and very special way," admitted the Barça president, emphasizing that he is a player who "deviates from the norm." "His salary must always correspond to his importance within the team, regardless of his age," he said. Regarding the player, he declined to venture into the possibility of him switching from number 19 to number 10, the same number worn by Messi and currently worn by Ansu Fati. This is a decision, Laporta said, that will be discussed "internally."
