The TV3 works council has decided to lower its claim of a partial strike during the two Telenotícies on June 30th. After holding an assembly, a proposal was voted on that requested a ten-minute stoppage, at the beginning of each of the two news editions. The decision was made with 75 votes in favor, 2 against, and 1 abstention out of a total of over 2,500 workers.

The staff representatives issued a statement yesterday in which they compiled a series of grievances with the leadership of the Catalan Audiovisual Media Corporation (CCMA) to tell them that they considered that the course had been suspended. Among the issues they denounced are the multiplication of trust positions with opaque processes, a hardening of the conditions for recovering overtime hours, what they consider "the most aggressive marketing operation in favor of 3Cat, with the objective of erasing the historical legacy of TV3 and Catalunya Ràdio". They also demanded that the Corporation's law be complied with, which indicates that three of the six members of the governing council should have been replaced in February of last year.

The CCMA's management, for its part, defends the transparency of hiring and states that trust positions have been reduced, attributes the campaign against the new brand plan to the resistance of a minority reluctant to change, assures that it has the support of the majority of the staff and considers that it is Parliament that must take the initiative for the renewal of the council. The proximity of union elections, in their opinion, explains why different candidacies are now seeking to raise the temperature of the conflict.

"Since the beginning of its mandate, the management of the current Governing Council has been marked by controversial decisions, with authoritarian practices in personnel management and a drift that has been taking management away from reality and the needs of the staff", explained the Committee in a statement. "Despite the approval of the 2024-2027 program contract, which must guarantee stable financing to ensure the public communication service and the promotion of language and democratic values, its implementation is being profoundly questionable".
