RAC1 breaks the audience record again and Basté reaches an all-time high with 809,000 listeners
Catalunya Ràdio drops slightly, but with improved results in most programs and the best figure for 'Tot Costa'
BarcelonaThere seems to be no ceiling for RAC1. After overcoming the psychological barrier of one million listeners, which had been eluding it, it not only surpasses it for the fourth consecutive time, but with 1,098,000 followers, it now aspires to the next milestone of 1.1 million. The result means adding 97,000 more listeners than it had in April of last year. This is data from the EGM released this Wednesday, which certifies the good health of Catalan on the radio and places Catalunya Ràdio as the second station in the country with 696,000 listeners, 20,000 less than a year ago but 70,000 more than two years ago. The public station improves in several time slots. La SER is third, with 450,000 listeners (it had 386,000).
Regarding the morning shows, Jordi Basté not only leads once again, but does so with the best result of his career: 809,000 listeners, which is more than all of the rival station's listeners. The communicator has increased from the 774,000 he had last April. Meanwhile, Ricard Ustrell, whose program is one hour longer than El món a RAC1, drops from 503,000 a year ago (when he achieved his best figure) to 457,000. This way, the gap between the two magazines is 352,000 followers, the largest since the journalist from Sabadell took the reins of the program, after having managed to reduce it to 193,000 in December 2024. In fact, El matí de Catalunya Ràdio is the only program on the public station's weekday schedule that is declining.
On weekends, Xavier Bundó also makes history at RAC1 with Via lliure by registering 749,000 listeners on Saturdays (he had 603,000 a year ago). That said, the sweetness of the record has a bitter drop in the Sunday results, where it drops from 523,000 to 453,000. His rival Roger Escapa finds solace in an improvement in the Saturday figures of El suplement (from 458,000 to 472,000) but also suffers on Sundays, falling from 428,000 to 369,000.
Beyond the morning shows, joy is widespread at the Grupo Godó station. Marc Giró's Vostè primer, for example, reaches 171,000 followers, a more than notable increase from the 132,000 it had in April 2025. The tireless Antoni Clapés also rises, reaching 417,000 listeners, 52,000 more than a year ago. No ho sé jumps from 132,000 to 164,000, and Tu diràs also climbs to 164,000, in this case from the 134,000 it had twelve months ago. In fact, the only decline on weekdays is La competència by the Òscars, which sees its numbers fall from 202,000 to 172,000, although it comfortably leads its time slot. 14/15, for its part, matches the 96,000 followers it had a year ago.
Meanwhile, at Catalunya Ràdio, the increase is generalized, excluding the morning shows (and Catalunya nit, which remains at the 91,000 it already had). Thus, Elisenda Carod's La solució registers 88,000 listeners, surpassing the 71,000 that El búnquer had in the same midday slot in April 2025. This figure represents an improvement from the 65,000 followers the EGM gave it in its first measurement in December 2025. Catalunya migdia adds 3,000 listeners, reaching 113,000. Another good result is La tarda de Catalunya Ràdio: Francesc Garriga debuted with 100,000 listeners in December, which have now increased to 138,000. This represents an improvement compared to the program's performance a year ago – the usual comparison, to eliminate the seasonal effect that radio experiences – when it had 125,000 followers under Elisenda Carod's direction. And even more impressive are the 157,000 loyal listeners of Tot Costa, setting a record for this sports program. Les dones i els dies also rises (from 45,000 to 64,000), as does La nit dels ignorants, which this season is presented by Marta Romagosa, increasing from the 46,000 recorded by Xavier Solà a year ago to 59,000.
The public broadcaster has two programs that, for the EGM, are presented as part of its major morning and afternoon magazines. These are La Renaixença, broadcast from 12 to 1, hosted by en Peyu. This transmedia program reaches 102,000 listeners, improving its December debut (it had 91,000) and also the 81,000 that Que no surti d'aquí achieved a year ago in the same slot. This gossip program now counts as breaking news for La tarda and registers 62,000 followers, in line with the 65,000 it had in December.
In the weekend's sports battle, clear dominance again for RAC1. The Superesports collects 327,000 and 300,000 followers on Saturday and Sunday (it had 183,000 and 251,000, respectively), and the Tot gira stays with 260,000 (more than double the 125,000 it registered) and 140,000 (in this case, a drop from 220,000).
On the other hand, a mixed bag for the rest of the Generalitat's public stations: the radio version of 3CatInfo improves figures and goes from 93,000 to 106,000 listeners, but iCAT does not consolidate the increase of recent waves and falls in a year from 37,000 to 28,000 listeners, while Catalunya Música drops from 39,000 to 32,000.
Digital audiences: Catalunya Ràdio drops to third
The EGM is prepared with surveys that analyze the recall of having heard a specific program, but there is also a measure of digital audiences, based on markers placed on the respective station pages. RAC1 leads this ranking, with 335,000 followers and SER is second, with 182,000, after Catalunya Ràdio has fallen to third place, with 171,000 connected. This data corresponds to the sum of users who listen to the live broadcast and those who opt for podcasts.
In fact, when these two consumptions are analyzed separately, a surprising fact emerges: in live listening, Catalunya Ràdio is fourth, with only 85,000 listeners, behind Rac1 (268,000), Cope (113,000) and SER (111,000). The figure is strange, because it differs greatly from the ranking in wave listening and may be influenced by some technical anomaly. In the podcast section, Catalunya Ràdio is first, with 93,000 daily followers, SER second (90,000) and RAC1 third (86,000).
Radio in Spain
The positions are also maintained in Spanish radio, although Cope manages to close the gap. The first station remains SER, with 4,592,000 listeners (65,000 more than a year ago). But the bishops' radio is the one that makes the most notable leap, jumping from 3,415,000 to 4,107,000 listeners and, therefore, leaving the distance between the two at less than half a million followers. Bronze goes again to Onda Cero, which also rises from 2,050,000 to 2,372,000, and the ranking closes with RNE, which stays at 905,000 (53,000 less).
In the fight for the morning flagship programs, Àngels Barceló once again prevails with Hoy por hoy, which reaches 3,200,000 listeners after a modest improvement of 30,000 followers. Carlos Herrera is very close: 3,093,000 and a notable growth from 2,490,000. Carlos Alsina is further behind, also rising with Más de uno (in this case, from 1,544,000 it goes to 1,816). And the fourth position is for Las Mañanas de RNE, which registers 781,000 listeners (100,000 more than a year ago).
Music radio in Catalonia
Los 40 principales return to lead the music radio ranking in Catalonia, with 324,000 listeners (they had 291,000 a year ago). The second position is for Flaixbac, with 289,000 (it had 290,000) and the third for Rac105, with 215,000 connected and a significant increase compared to the 173,000 it registered in April 2025. Flaix also had 173,000 then, but in this EGM wave it only manages to rise to 199,000 and remain fourth. The Top5 is closed by Cadena Dial, which improves slightly: from 177,000 to 180,000 faithful.
