'Polònia' transforms Gabriel Rufián into Bad Bunny for its latest musical number: "The new Che has already been born"
The 3Cat program has broadcast a part of the Puerto Rican's show at the Super Bowl
If there is one thing that has characterized Polònia in its twenty years of history, it has been its speed in incorporating phenomena from real life into its gags. This week, the satirical program's screenwriters have once again shown this by turning Gabriel Rufián into Bad Bunny and recreating part of the celebrated show that the Puerto Rican performed at the Super Bowl on Sunday. Specifically, the program has adapted the song Debí tirar más fotos with lyrics that refer to the proposal by the spokesperson for Esquerra in Congress to unite the different left-wing parties to face the rise of the far-right.
Dressed entirely in white, like the real Bad Bunny at the Super Bowl, the Gabriel Rufián from Polònia walks through a park while singing the verses of the popular Puerto Rican song. Among other things, he says, "The new Che has been born, but instead of a beret, I wear a quiff" or "With as many retweets as votes, I will be president." As a chorus, Rufián sings: "I'm going to have more votes than being in Esquerra with a left-wing front, and even more so if I'm the one leading it".
Imitating Bad Bunny at the Super Bowl, who mentioned all the countries that make up America, Rufián calls for unity by mentioning all the left-wing parties "scoundrel". "God bless the scoundrel left! Podemos, Sumar, Bildu, BNG, Compromís, Más Madrid and whoever is now leading the CUP!", he concludes.
Rufián's proposal to form a united left-wing front currently has no support, and this also appears incorporated into the gag. At the end of the song, he ends up backing down: "Don't throw more photos at me, I'm not leaving Esquerra. Who said left-wing front?"
