Controversy over the glaring shortcomings in the Generalitat's school vouchers
The Government attributes the errors to the subcontracted company and will not reprint them.

BarcelonaThe families of all primary and secondary school students in public and private schools are receiving two 30-euro vouchers in the mail these days to purchase school supplies. The surprise was that they contain glaring spelling mistakes (such as, exchange them without apostrophizing and you will find without accent) and typos (shops instead of shops and acherits instead of attached). The Government has stated that the error is the fault of the subcontracted company and rules out reprinting them
The Departments of Education and Economy have confirmed that the Government sent a spell-checked version to the company. The latter has attributed this to "a technical error." In a letter, the company apologized and offered to "minimize the impact of this incident." The government will take whatever action it deems appropriate, in accordance with the public sector contracts law.
The Ministry of Education insists that the school vouchers are still valid and, therefore, will not reprint them. Three days after the campaign was launched, 14,000 vouchers have already been activated and more than ten thousand students have used them. In total, 1,517,214 school vouchers have been issued and distributed to 661,903 households. The contract was awarded for 51,118.50 euros.
This error is the final straw at the end of the school year in which the low educational level and spelling mistakes in the university entrance exam have been in the spotlight.
