BarcelonaAitana offered yesterday the last concert of the four she had scheduled at the Palau Sant Jordi. And she did it with a show in which she spoke more Catalan than ever, throughout the whole concert, after days of training with her friends. "I would like to take Catalan classes, I would like to maintain the language, because it is the most important thing we have here in Catalonia. We are bilingual. We speak Spanish but also Catalan," she said.

Aitana (27 years old, Sant Climent de Llobregat) said that she is a Spanish speaker with her family but defended the Catalan school model when she said that thanks to going to school in Barcelona she learned "Catalan perfectly". "I would like to be able to practice it more," she also said, because now that she has been living abroad for years, mainly in Madrid, she no longer has it "as fluent" and "it is no longer as easy" to speak it. That is why she says she is a fan of Crims and that she watches cinema in Catalan to be able to keep the language alive. "I have to improve, I use many Spanishisms, I know," she admits.

Aitana also explained that, as often happens in front of a Spanish speaker, her friends have the habit of switching to Spanish when they talk to her and, therefore, she does not have many spaces to hear and converse in Catalan. So she asked her friends to do a I keep Catalan and not change language: "These days I was talking to my friends and I told them: 'I want you to speak to me in Catalan'". Her defense of immersion served to surprise the audience at the Sant Jordi and ignite the networks with messages of support.
