BarcelonaThe United States has launched a "strong wave of attacks" against Iran in the last few hours. The bombings, in response to the latest intercepted missile launches against American troops deployed in the Middle East, have hit Revolutionary Guard targets, according to US central command. At least three people have died, including a two-year-old minor, and two others have been injured on Qeshm Island, in the Strait of Hormuz, according to the Iranian agency Fars.

According to the US armed forces, Iranian military command centers, missile and drone facilities, surveillance and coastal defense points, and naval capabilities have been attacked. The objective, as detailed in a statement released on X, has been to "further reduce" the threats posed by Iran and its allies to American forces, commercial navigation, and neighboring Gulf countries.

The army has not reported specific casualties or damage caused by the bombings, but the Hormozgan University of Medical Sciences has echoed the deadly attack in Hormuz: "In an attack perpetrated by the American enemy against a dwelling in the city of Qeshm, the parents of the family and a two-year-old child lost their lives, while two children, aged seven and nine, were injured and taken to the hospital," he stated, in statements reported by the Fars agency.

The American offensive took place one day after forces from Iran launched several ballistic missiles against American positions in the Middle East, attacks that were "successfully intercepted," according to the US. "More than 50,000 American service members are currently deployed in the Middle East and remain highly vigilant, focused, lethal, and ready," the central command statement said.

The American president, Donald Trump, had announced that they would respond forcefully to the attacks in Jordan on Tuesday night. And this Thursday, after the new US wave, the Jordanian army has reported the interception of at least five more missiles launched against its territory and has accused Tehran, which has not yet claimed responsibility.
