Touch of the sea: Begur's most coveted railing

Sometimes you walk into a restaurant and they give you several table options. You can sit at this one here or that one there... In the case of today's establishment, Toc al Mar, on Aiguablava beach in Begur, where sitting is almost a matter of status. The fact is that they have several dining rooms, and most people want to be as close to the water as possible. But what shouldn't distract us is that here, of course, where you sit is important, but what you eat is also important, and at Toc al Mar, they have the freshest produce.
It's one of those places where they show you a platter of fish that you'd really like, along with whatever they have on offer that day. It's a good restaurant for grilled or baked fish. Be aware, though, of the prices, which are usually per kilo. You'll see that the menu is 100% Mediterranean cuisine and they have the dishes you're craving at that moment. If upon arrival they tell you the parking lot is full, say you have a reservation at Toc al Mar, and they'll let you in. In fact, a reservation is essential, because these days there's not even room for a needle.
And if I may, one last piece of advice: the sea is always there. And this restaurant, like many on the Costa Brava, is open many months longer than during the busy month of August. Everyone does what they can and goes places when life allows, but if you really want to enjoy the privilege of eating in these places, I would go any other month of the year, starting in mid-September.
