Trump will send the letter with the tariffs to the EU within "two days."
The White House has already sent it to countries such as Japan and South Korea.

BarcelonaUS President Donald Trump continues his tariff war. After extending the truce on reciprocal tariffs until August 1, the White House announced that it will send the letter setting the tariffs with the European Union in two days.
Trump said Tuesday that although the EU is being "nice" during trade negotiations with Washington, the letter he will address to the blog will be sent soon. "They're being very nice to us now, and we'll see what happens. We're probably two days away from sending them a letter. We're talking to them. I just want them to know that a letter means a deal," the president said during a cabinet meeting at the White House.
The Republican president said last Thursday that he wanted to start sending letters to countries to inform them of the new tariffs on their exports to the United States, following long and complex negotiations. "It's a lot easier. We have over 170 countries. And how many deals can you make? You can make good deals, but they're a lot more complicated," Trump said of his letters. Later, the leader said the new tariffs could range from 10% to 70%, with payment due by August 1.
The week began with the sending of the corresponding letters to Japan and South Korea. Trump made the letters public through various posts on the social media platform Truth Social, where he threatened both Asian countries with 25% tariffs on their imports.
