BarcelonaThe live music industry is entering one of its most fruitful periods of the year in Catalonia. Ticket sales revenue in 2024 was 138,577,703 euros., one of the highest figures in history. And a good part of this income corresponds to spring and summer, the time of festivals and stadium concerts.

After the Primavera Sound, he Dream and the Share FestivalAnd before Vida, Canet Rock, and Cruïlla, the live music scene offers a diverse offering: from heavy metal for different ages at Rock Fest to pop-rock for the masses at Imagine Dragons. Below is a selection of concerts from the first week of summer.

Rrandom Festival

Ruby. From Wednesday, June 25th to Sunday, June 29th

The Rrandom program takes place in various venues in Rubí, including the Teatro la Sala, the Castell Park amphitheater, the Escardívol, and Plaza Salvador Allende. The lineup includes bands and artists such as Rosario, Figa Flawas, Ginestà, Miki Núñez, Hotel Cochambre, Veintiuno, and OKDW, among others. The concerts are free.

Rock Fest

Can Zam Park. Saint Coloma de Gramanet. From Thursday, June 26 to Sunday, June 29

Pantera was the differentiating factor of Rock Fest 2024This year, this honor goes to Slipknot, headliner of the festival's first day. The American band is celebrating the 25th anniversary of the release of their first album, one of the most popular stripped-down metal albums. Other Rock Fest attractions include Lynyrd Skynyrd, Running Wild, and The Hellacopters (Friday the 27th); King Diamond and Soziedad Alkohólika (Saturday the 28th); and Judas Priest, Scorpions, and Doro (Sunday the 29th). The fine print, not so anchored in nostalgia, includes interesting offerings, such as the notable La Mancha group Angelus Apatrida, the Swedish band Avatarium (Scandinavian bon doom), and the folk metal of the Finnish band Ensiferum, among others.

Wilco

Alma Festival. Pueblo Español. Thursday, June 26 (10 p.m.)

Days of hyperactivity in Montjuïc. Greek Festival The third edition of the Alma Festival in Poble Espanyol kicks off at the Teatre Grec. The first concert will be by the American band Wilco, alternative rock heroes with a thirty-year history, always led by the charismatic Jeff Tweedy.

Pablo López

Sant Jordi Palace. Thursday, June 26 (9 p.m.)

Montjuïc also hosts the return of the Malaga singer Pablo López, the best-selling melodic pop artist, as part of the tour 360º. That is, with the stage in the center of the track (as Billie Eilish). No new albums, but tickets are almost sold out: some remain at 43 euros in the stands, and 390 euros in the court seating area.

Ignasi Terraza

Palace of Music. Friday, June 27 (8 p.m.)

One of the highlights of the Mas i Mas Festival. Pianist Ignasi Terraza will celebrate 45 years of career, and the audience will be able to properly reward one of the styles of Catalan jazz. Terraza, who was recognized as a doctor last year honoris causa by the UPC, will be accompanied by Jasen Weaver (double bass), Adrian Cunningham (flute, clarinet, and tenor saxophone), Christos Rafalides (vibraphone), Esteve Pi (drums), and vocalist Sara Dowling. Tickets are still available for 50 euros.

The Cult

Alma Festival. Pueblo Español. Friday, June 27 (10 p.m.)

The second day of the Alma Festival features the British band founded by singer Ian Atsbury and guitarist Billy Duffy forty years ago, during the era of postpunk and gothic rock. The Cult have maintained their status through an intermittent trajectory that, after various stylistic excursions, has returned to their more gothic roots. In fact, this year's tour reserves relevant moments for songs from albums like Love (1985) and Electric (1987). Tickets are still available for 49, 60, and 66 euros.

Idilic Festival

Sant Feliu de Guíxols. Friday, June 27th and Saturday, June 28th

Before Porta Ferrada fills the summer nights of Sant Feliu de Guíxols, the Baix Empordà city hosts the third edition of the Idilic Festival. The lineup includes Melendi, Higo Flawas, Ruslana, Malmö 404, Hey Kid, and Timo (Friday), and Dani Fernández, Alizzz, Depol, Marina Reche, Marlon, and Marlena (Saturday). The concerts are at the Guíxols Arena, and daily tickets are still available at €59.

Rigoberta Bandini

Sant Jordi Palace. Saturday, June 28 (9 p.m.)

Barcelona native Paula Ribó, alias Rigoberta Bandini, has expanded the character in the twenty-two disco songs Jesus Christ Superstar, an ambitious proposal that must coexist with the hits that turned her into a post-pandemic pop phenomenon. The audience is responding to the challenge. Tickets are almost sold out. There are still some tickets for 24 euros in the upper tiers.

Alan Parsons Live Project

Alma Festival. Spanish Village. Saturday, June 28 (10 p.m.)

Health problems related to his spine kept him away from the stage, but British Alan Parsons returned to tour the world last year and continues to give concerts at a good pace. The performance in Barcelona closes a European tour that has also taken him to Bilbao, Utrecht, Eindhoven, Murcia, A Coruña, and Madrid. Tickets for the Alma Festival concert are still available at 55 euros.

Ado

Sant Jordi Palace. Sunday, June 29 (8:30 p.m.)

Everything is mysterious about the Japanese singer Ado. Emerging from the culture utaite (artists born in digital contexts and quickly viralized), had a huge success with the song Usseewa and then amplified its impact when it included New Genesis on the film's soundtrack One Piece Film: Red (2022). In shows like the Hibana tour that stops at the Palau Sant Jordi, he maintains the mystery of his identity by performing inside a cage-like box that barely allows a view of his silhouette. Live Nation, the promoter of the Barcelona concert, warns that, "to preserve the artist's identity, taking photos and videos, and using binoculars, is prohibited during the performance." If they detect any spectators ignoring the rules, "the lighting at the Caixa Ado will be deactivated, and only the artist's voice will be heard for the remainder of the performance." Tickets are still available at prices ranging from €73.50 to €195.50.

The Corrs

Alma Festival. Spanish Village. Sunday, June 29 (10 p.m.)

Ten years ago, the Irish band The Corrs resumed their activity after a decade without albums or concerts. The album White light (2015) brought the Corr brothers back to the touring world, a reality they experienced for a couple of years. At the end of 2022, they played together again after five years. Finally, in October 2023, they once again launched the machinery that had led them to success, combining pop-rock and elements of Irish musical tradition. Tickets for the concert at Poble Espanyol are available at €88.

Imagine Dragons

Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium. Tuesday, July 1.

Tickets have been sold out for months. This is the excitement that the Las Vegas band, Coldplay from across the Atlantic, continues to generate. Imagine Dragons arrive in Barcelona as part of their album tour. Loom (2024), and with a backlog of great hits that includes songs with more than two billion plays on Spotify such as Believer, Radioactive, Demons and Thunder.
