Esparbé recalled how when he was six years old he crossed the road without looking and a van hit him, sending him flying four meters. "They took me to Vilafranca Hospital and something very serious happened: I was in a coma. I was in a coma for thirty or forty minutes. A short time, but long enough, they told me, for the doctors to have to inform the family. And it was a very big shock for my parents," explains the actor. The protagonist of Smiley assures that, surprisingly, he didn't break anything in that accident and only suffered some bruises.

Of that experience Esparbé says he has a very vivid memory. "From that period I remember the green varnish with red stripes that I wore when I left the hospital," he says.

In the interview with Escapa, the actor also shares some reflections on how he experiences love. In this regard, he details some of the things he looks for in a partner: "Sense of humor, obviously. Emotional intelligence. Loyalty. I trust a partner with whom you can go to a party and you can stop worrying. That each person lives their own life, that they enjoy life. And knowing that you come home at the end of the night saying: 'How well we had it.' Yes, I trust that a lot."
