BarcelonaActress Anna Castillo L'Eclipsi, presented by Roger Escapa, has given a new example. In her conversation with the journalist, the protagonist of El olivo reflects on the criticism she received when she made her relationship with fellow actor Álvaro Mel public after her previous partner was a woman. "I never said I was a lesbian, but it's something people took for granted," says Castillo, who defines herself as bisexual and regrets the biphobic comments she received.

The actress argues that bisexuality "has always been in no man's land, invisible and stigmatized." "I preferred not to position myself with any label because I didn't feel comfortable in heterosexuality or being a lesbian. I stayed quiet and that was it. What I did was make visible the relationship I had at that time, which was with a woman," recalls Castillo. Before starting with Álvaro Mel, the actress shared her life with photographer Lara Blanco.

The actress admits that the biphobic comments she received hurt her. "I felt like I had been speaking up for six years for a cause I was committed to and, suddenly, the tables turned and I got slapped. That's not fair," she says. Castillo started dating Álvaro Mel after meeting on the set of Un cuento perfecto, a romantic series from Netflix based on a novel by Elisabet Benavent.

Castillo assures that, despite the criticism, she does not regret sharing her private life on social media. "As long as I'm comfortable and feel like it, I'm super in favor of showing a certain part of my intimate life. Have I regretted it? No, and the proof is that I continue to do so. It is true that, over the years, I have protected myself more on social media. But I'm not so afraid of them, I think that way I control them more," she emphasizes.

The Barcelona native is one of the most sought-after actresses of the moment. This May she will premiere the series Se tiene que morir mucha gente, a Movistar Plus+ production that has just been shown at the Canneseries festival, and she is already immersed in the second season of Su Majestad, from Prime Video.
