Gas cap works: electricity prices down 22.6%
Market sets a price for Wednesday of €165.59/MWh

BarcelonaThe average price of electricity in the wholesale market for tomorrow Wednesday will be €165.59/MWh, 22.6% lower than this Tuesday, according to data published by the Iberian market operator (OMIE). This price is the first to be set under the Iberian exception, i.e. with a cap on the price of gas used to generate electricity.
As authorised by the European Commission, the price of gas for the generation of electricity will now be capped at €40/MWh for six months, and in the following six months it will rise by €5 each month, so that the maximum average gas price for the next 12 months will be €48.8/MWh.
