A weekend of uncertain weather and less warm conditions arrives
The temperature will drop over the next few days, especially at midday
The weather has been fully spring-like for days, with scattered showers and thunderstorms and a temperature much higher than normal, as demonstrated by us closing the warmest April since records began in our country. This weekend will not change this trend and the weather will remain very changeable with new irregular showers in some areas, although nowhere near everywhere. A typically spring-like unstable situation that will also continue next week, with temperatures that will gradually decrease and normalize, although still with thermal mildness during the central hours of the day.
Saturday: early morning with rain in the south
On Saturday, instability will be concentrated mainly in the western half and in the Pyrenees, especially in the western sector. During the first part of the day, showers or drizzles may fall in the regions of Tarragona, Lleida, southern Barcelona, and the Valencian Country, and as the hours pass – especially in the afternoon – the showers will increasingly concentrate in the Pyrenees, pre-Pyrenees, and nearby areas, locally with thunderstorms. More clear skies and calm between Girona and Barcelona. It will be during the early morning when it could rain more heavily in the Terres de l'Ebre and Camp de Tarragona, with some local downpours. The maximum temperature will drop a little, although it will still exceed 23 °C in many places.
In this regard, Meteocat has issued a warning for rain intensity in half an hour affecting the regions of Baix Ebre, Montsià, Ribera d'Ebre, Priorat, Tarragonès, and Baix Camp during the early morning and morning of Saturday.
Sunday: more scattered showers
The weather will remain unsettled, with a risk of showers and irregular thunderstorms, especially in the afternoon in parts of the Pyrenees, Pre-Pyrenees, Catalan coast, and Ports de Tortosa-Beseit. In the rest of the region, the sky will remain changeable, with the possibility of some drizzle or weak and localized downpours, but with generally abundant cloud cover. This instability will persist thanks to the presence of a small pocket of cold air at high altitudes, which will fuel the growth of clouds and cause a Monday with more widespread rain, as it could rain in any region at the start of the week.
