The wind will ease on a Sunday with intervals of clouds.
Some precipitation will persist on the northern slopes of the Pyrenees
BarcelonaThe storm Oriana A new storm with strong winds has brought us to many regions, in this case the mistral and tramontana winds, with gusts exceeding 140 or 150 km/h in the Terres de l'Ebre, Castellón, the Empordà, and the Pyrenean peaks, with blizzard conditions wherever snow is present. The Ventcat plan will remain in effect throughout Saturday afternoon and evening, with a red alert issued by Meteocat for the Ripollès region. Aemet maintains a red alert in Castellón, where locally hurricane-force winds of over 130 km/h are possible.
Sunday: calmer with intervals of clouds
The weather will be calmer and more enjoyable on Sunday. We can expect a final day of the weekend with significantly less wind, although it will ease off in the morning, especially in the Empordà region, while persisting for longer in the south. Sunshine will combine with high and mid-level clouds, and some light showers on the northern slopes of the Pyrenees, where temperatures and the snow level will rise. The snow level will be between 1,600 and 1,800 meters. In contrast, in the rest of the region, temperatures will remain similar or even drop slightly. Minimum temperatures will reach their lowest point, and the early morning will be colder and more wintry, with frost in the Pyrenees, Pre-Pyrenees, nearby areas, and other mountain regions. It will be necessary to dress warmly if leaving home early.
Monday: rising temperatures and snowfall in the western Pyrenees
The week will begin with fairly stable weather, with westerly winds driving up both minimum and maximum temperatures. In fact, the mercury could reach 20 or 21°C in some areas, creating a noticeably milder atmosphere. This cooler temperature will raise the snow level to 1,700 or 1,900 meters in the Pyrenees, where precipitation could be heavy, exceeding 40 centimeters of snow at higher elevations.
