The anticyclone will last for days: tomorrow it will be even hotter at midday
Sunshine and calm will prevail, and perhaps some changes will begin to arrive from the weekend onwards.
BarcelonaThe anticyclone that began to settle in over the weekend is here to stay for several days. Sunshine and calm weather also prevailed on Monday, and this situation will continue for practically the entire week. There will only be minor variations, such as some decorative touches of thin clouds and morning fog or low clouds. The morning temperature inversion will persist, as will the marked temperature contrast between day and night. Even this Tuesday, the weather will be milder or warmer at midday, with some highs locally reaching around 25°C in the warmest areas. On Wednesday, a maritime breeze will arrive, lowering temperatures slightly and causing some coastal low clouds, but without any major consequences. We should look at least to the medium term for signs of changes, but there are still many days to go.
Tuesday: warmer weather
Temperatures will rise slightly further on Tuesday, with mild to warm conditions in the middle of the day. Highs are expected to range between 18 and 23°C, but could reach around 25°C in the south of the country and in some areas along the coast. Sunshine will prevail, with only a few wisps of thin clouds, as well as morning fog or low clouds in inland plains and valleys, and also along some stretches of the coast, due to the contrast between the mild air and the still quite cold sea water at this time of year.
Minor changes on Wednesday in a context of total calm
The influx of wetter maritime air will bring more low clouds to parts of the coast on Wednesday. This will also cause a drop in temperatures, due to the influence of the currently very cold sea water, with winter-like temperatures.
Minor variations in a context of absolute calm that will continue for much of the week. Perhaps towards the weekend, the tail end of a front will arrive, increasing cloud cover and bringing some showers to the Pyrenees. This will be brief, and it won't be until next week that instability could increase significantly. In any case, there are still many days to go, and this scenario is not yet clear. For the moment, we have a high-pressure system and calm conditions for days on end.
