Spring and warm Easter Monday

BarcelonaThe anticyclone keeps Atlantic fronts away and its warm ridge causes the thermometer to rise sharply during the day. This Sunday, for example, temperatures already approached 30 °C in Poniente, with 29.5 °C recorded in Alcarràs. The weather will remain spring-like everywhere on this final day of Holy Week and we will enjoy a 'dia de la mona' with temperatures more typical of May than early April. Only some changes are expected at the end of the week, with the approach of a front that could bring showers to the Pyrenees and a slightly cooler atmosphere.

Easter Monday: radiant and warm

Today we can eat the mona with a radiant sun and an advanced spring temperature. Many highs of 20°C to 25 °C are expected, but in points of the pre-littoral and inland these figures will be exceeded and, again, 28 °C will be exceeded in the west. Thermometers will be more restrained on the coast due to the influence of the sea, whose water is still cold. In Costa Brava and the Ebro Delta, some fog banks will form, especially in the morning or at sunset. All this with thermal contrast between day and night (in some inland observatories there will be a thermal oscillation of more than 25 degrees). During the afternoon, some developing clouds will grow in the northernmost Pyrenees, but they should not cause precipitation. In any case, a drop could fall in the north of Ripollès and Cerdaña. In the rest of the territory, only some thin, harmless clouds will be seen.

The softness will persist

Between Wednesday and Thursday, the temperature will reach its peak again inland, especially in Ponent, where it could reach up to 30 °C. On the coast, it will remain around 22 °C, with a cooler atmosphere due to the maritime effect and some morning fog banks due to the thermal contrast between the mainland and the sea. Towards the weekend, some changes could arrive, with an increase in the possibility of precipitation and a more moderated temperature.
