Some showers and temperatures down: the least warm day of the week arrives

BarcelonaThis Tuesday, the weather has undergone some changes due to the passage of the tail of a worn-out front. Some irregular showers have repeated in the Pyrenees, Pre-Pyrenees, and nearby areas, such as the north of Ponent and Central Catalonia, and in the northeast interior. Not much, waiting for showers and drizzles to affect more counties between the early morning and morning of Wednesday. But above all, we have noticed that temperatures have dropped, especially inland and in the Pyrenees, although not much yet on the coast.

More moderate heat has pushed the mercury only up to 30 or 32°C in Ponent and Ebre, far from yesterday's 35°C. On Wednesday, thermometers will bottom out, with a generally comfortable atmosphere and many highs between 23 and 28°C. The next nights will also be cooler everywhere. But this slight cooling will not last long, as the heat will climb back in the coming days, and the weekend will be summery again. The anticyclone will reassert itself, with absolute calm and radiant sun everywhere.

Wednesday: less heat and some showers

Temperatures will drop even further this Wednesday, with cooler conditions in the early and late hours everywhere – including the coast – and heat kept in check during the middle of the day. There may only be a brief temporary rise in mercury on the southern coast. Many highs are expected to be between 23 and 28°C, with cooler temperatures in mountain areas, and at most up to 30°C in Ponent and the Ebro. A comfortable atmosphere with values quite normalized for the season.

All this with a risk of scattered showers and drizzles during the early morning and morning that will move from west to east. They can fall in practically any location, but especially in the northern half of the country. Not much all in all, and during the second part of the day sun and calm will dominate in most regions. Only cloud remnants will remain in the north of the territory, with some local showers in the Pyrenees, especially in the north of Ripollès and on the northern face of the mountain range.

Therefore, the rain will not make an appearance during the main event of Pope Leo XIV's visit to Catalonia. Regardless, the north wind will blow at both ends in the morning, and in the afternoon only the Tramuntana will remain in Empordà.

Summer heat returns

The cool spell will not continue, as heat and a summer atmosphere will return in the coming days. Temperatures will rise on Thursday, and between Friday and the weekend, they will again exceed 30°C in various parts of the pre-coastal areas and inland, and 35°C in Ponent and the Ebro. The Azores High will embrace us fully again and will dominate a large part of Europe, with absolute calm and sun with practically no exceptions.
