Sky forecast for the next few hours in some places: where it may rain

BarcelonaThe weather has changed this Thursday due to the passage of the tail end of a cold front, which has reactivated instability. The clouds have grown, especially since midday, and intermittent showers and thunderstorms have reappeared in some places, although not everywhere, especially in the central pre-coastal region and the Girona region. Of note are the 10 l/m² rainfall in Rellinars (Vallès Occidental), the 7 in Espolla (Alt Empordà), the 7 in Olot, and the 5 in Vall d'en Bas (Garrotxa). In fact, showers will continue to fall in the Pyrenees and the northeast until the evening, and scattered showers may appear in other coastal areas after dark. Between early morning and Friday morning, strong thunderstorms may occur in the Ebro, south of Camp de Tarragona, and in Castellón. Meteocat has issued warnings for heavy rain in several regions, while the north wind will intensify in the Empordà region. Tomorrow, calm will return and temperatures will drop, but the weekend will see a further rise and the heat will be even more intense.

Night and dawn: watching the sky

Showers and some thunderstorms will continue to occur in parts of the northeast and the Pyrenees during the afternoon, evening, and early evening. Scattered showers will also occur in some coastal areas during the evening and early morning. The strongest showers and thunderstorms are expected mainly between Camp de Tarragona and Terres de l'Ebre between late Friday and early morning.

Friday: calmer, but not everywhere

During the early morning hours, showers and locally intense thunderstorms are possible between the Costa Daurada and the Ebro Delta. Rain is expected to remain clear in the rest of Catalonia, although there will be some cloudy periods with a changeable sky. In the regions of Castellón and parts of Valencia, there will be significant cloud cover, with a few showers that could occur at any time of day.

In the afternoon, however, sunshine and calm will prevail across much of Catalonia, with no rain, with traces of clouds in the south and stretches of the coast and harmless afternoon clouds in mountainous areas. Temperatures will drop, both minimum and maximum, and the heat will be moderate in the middle of the day, with many temperatures ranging from 26 to 31°C. The north wind will blow during the first part of the day on the Costa Brava.

Summer weekend

Temperatures will rise over the weekend and peak between Sunday and Monday due to the arrival of warm southerly winds. Intense, fully summery heat. Above-average values with highs exceeding 30°C in the warmest areas of the pre-coastal and inland areas, and muggy conditions on the coast. Tropical lows will again gain ground on the coast and in the south, but without extremes.

All this, with calm and generally quite sunny weather, only minor nuances. The exception will be some afternoon showers on Sunday on the north side of the Pyrenees. However, starting Tuesday, a change in the weather will arrive with rain in many regions and a further drop in temperatures. A hectic situation that will occur just before the Diada long weekend.
