Summer weekend, but new weather changes before the Diada

There are alerts in some regions due to the risk of intense storms.

BarcelonaThe weather has changed in recent hours due to a small front that has reactivated instability, with irregular showers and storms in some places, although by no means everywhere, especially in the central pre-coastal region, the Girona region, and the Tarragona coast (you'll find all the details at the end of this report). In fact, during the early hours of the morning, some local showers or downpours could still occur between the Ebro Delta and Castellón. The northerly wind will blow fairly strongly during the morning in the Empordà region, weakening in the afternoon. However, throughout the day, sunshine and calm will gradually prevail, with only minor nuances. Temperatures will drop, with more moderate heat, but they will soar again over the weekend and the atmosphere will be summery, leaving temperatures above average. Next week, a new change in the weather will arrive with rain and a further drop in temperatures, just before the Diada long weekend.

Friday: calmer, but not everywhere

During the early hours of the morning, there will still be a few showers and some locally intense thunderstorms between the Ebro Delta and Castellón. Rain will remain clear in the rest of Catalonia, although there will be some harmless cloudy periods with a changeable sky. In the regions of Castellón and parts of Valencia, there will be plenty of cloud cover with some scattered showers that could appear at any time of day.

In the afternoon, however, sunshine and calm will prevail across much of Catalonia, with no rain, with traces of clouds in the south and stretches of the coast and harmless afternoon clouds in mountainous areas. Temperatures will drop, both minimum and maximum, and the heat will be moderate in the middle of the day, with many temperatures ranging from 26 to 31°C. The north wind will blow during the first part of the day on the Costa Brava.

Summer weekend, waiting for a new change

Temperatures will rise over the weekend and peak between Sunday and Monday due to the arrival of warm southerly winds. Intense, fully summery heat. Above-average values with highs exceeding 30°C in the warmest areas of the pre-coastal and inland areas, and muggy conditions on the coast. Tropical lows will again gain ground on the coast and in the south, but without extremes.

All this, with calm and generally quite sunny weather, only minor nuances. The exception will be some afternoon showers on Sunday on the north face of the Pyrenees. However, starting Tuesday, a change in the weather will arrive with rain in many regions and a further drop in temperatures. A hectic situation that will occur just before the Diada long weekend.
