BarcelonaThe weather has improved compared to a few days ago, and we are no longer experiencing torrential and extraordinary rainfall like that experienced on the Ebro. However, the instability has not disappeared, and last night's showers and storms will be repeated in the coming days. Yesterday, it rained heavily in areas of Central Catalonia, with accumulations of more than 20 or 30 l/m² in places, especially in Osona and La Garrotxa. These storms locally recorded some notable figures, such as the 65 l/m² in Sant Julián de Vilatorta (Osona) and the 38 in Vall d'en Bas (Garrotxa). And this afternoon, we already saw the first small amount of rain in the Port of Barcelona, with 35 l/m² in a short period of time. This afternoon, the showers will resume on the coast and pre-coast, and will spread towards Central Catalonia and the northern inland areas. Very irregular rainfall will not affect the entire territory, but where it falls, it may be locally heavy and leave some rain. The Inuncat plan is in alert phase, and Meteocat has activated many warnings.

Forecast map for this Thursday morning.

Thursday: New scattered showers

Unlike yesterday, this Thursday morning will see more cloudy spells, especially along the coast and pre-coast, where the sky will be heavier. This will all be the result of the arrival of light offshore winds, which will remain unstable.

It will be precisely on the coast and pre-coast—especially Tarragona—that some showers or fairly localized downpours may occur during the morning. From midday and throughout the afternoon, showers will recur in parts of the coast and pre-coast of Barcelona and Tarragona, while clouds will grow, bringing showers and occasional thunderstorms in areas of the pre-coast, central Catalonia, and the eastern Pyrenees and Pre-Pyrenees, with the rest of the region not being ruled out. They will be very irregular, but locally some downpours may be more intense. Meteocat extends the alerts to more than 20 regions for rain that could be intense.

Showers may also occur along the Valencian coast in the morning, while in the afternoon, intermittent showers will occur inland in the Valencian Community, inland in Ibiza, and in Mallorca. All this with slightly lower temperatures. These temperatures will remain at bay and fairly normal for the season, with many temperatures ranging from 18 to 23°C.

Undefined weather in the coming days

Scattered showers will be repeated on Friday, especially in inland areas of the northeast, the coastal and pre-coastal areas, and the Pre-Pyrenees. The weekend looks set to be calmer, with clearings gaining ground, but with the remains of some more localized showers. The anticyclone in the British Isles will maintain instability in our latitudes, and between Sunday and Monday, a weakened Atlantic front will approach, maintaining variability and some showers. Temperatures will remain relatively unchanged, with normal or slightly below average values for the season.
