Easter Sunday placid and with temperatures near 27 ºC
Last stretch of Holy Week warm inland and with some sea fog
BarcelonaAn anticyclonic ridge embraces us and is causing the weather to remain fully spring-like in our territory. On one hand, we have a high-pressure center over the Bay of Biscay and another over the western Mediterranean. All of this causes the wind to be null or very weak and, furthermore, allows the atmosphere to warm up, especially at midday. Therefore, the last stretch of Easter will continue to be stable and with clear skies. Only some change is expected at the end of next week, with the proximity of a front that could bring showers and a slightly cooler atmosphere.
Easter Sunday with no changes and rising temperatures
Spring day, with clear skies across the country. We may see some low clouds off the Costa Dorada or in the Ebro delta. Inland Ebro and Central Catalonia will experience some mist, which will dissipate during the morning. The atmosphere has been cool in the early morning and the minimums have risen. They have ranged around 4 °C in the Pyrenean valleys and between 6 °C and 8 °C inland. On the coast, they have not dropped below 11 °C – in the city of Barcelona – while in other areas it has cooled a bit more (7 °C in Cunit and 6 °C in Viladecans, in the Parc Agrari). On the Costa Brava, the thermometer dropped to 4 °C in Palafrugell. There have been no frosts at high altitudes – the thermal inversion has kept the minimum around 3 °C in Tosa de Alp while in Das, in the valley, they dropped to -1 °C.
The maximums will rise notably, especially in Poniente and in the interior of the Ebro valley, with a very mild atmosphere in the middle of the day and many maximums between 20 °C and 24 °C, which, locally, will again approach 26 °C or 27 °C in the Poniente regions and in the interior of the Ebro.
During the afternoon, cloudiness will increase in the Pyrenees, where some showers of intensity are not ruled out. In the rest of the territory, only some thin clouds will appear and on the coast, some sea fog is not ruled out, for example, in front of the Costa Brava. These advection fogs are common in spring, with warm periods and still cold seawater. The strong contrast between the two air masses generates the formation of fog banks, sometimes compact and persistent.
Radiant and warm Easter Monday
Tomorrow the weather will be very pleasant and we can eat the mona with a radiant sun and a temperature that will remind us more of the values of May than of early April. Many highs of 20 °C to 25 °C are expected, but in points of the pre-littoral and the interior these figures will be exceeded and locally 28 °C or 29 °C will be reached in Ponent and in the interior of the Ebro. Thermometers will be more held back on the coast due to the influence of the sea, whose water is still cold. On the Costa Brava and off the central coast, maritime fogs will form, especially towards sunset. All this with a thermal contrast between day and night. Between Wednesday and Thursday the temperature will peak in the interior, especially in Ponent, where it could reach up to 30 °C. On the coast, it will remain around 22 °C. Towards the end of next week the weather could change and a front could arrive. We will have to keep an eye on it.
